Mine Safety Audits

Our mine safety audits involve two main steps. The first step is to check via a desktop audit that the site's documentation is up to date and complies with the requirements of the relevant legislation. The second step is to check by field verification that the risk control measures which are described in the documentation are actually being used as intended.
We can assist the site's health and safety team to develop audit documents and an audit program and, if required, to carry out audits.
Principal Mining Hazard Management Plans

Principal mining hazard management plans are required by the health and safety legislation to describe how the site intends to manage its principal mining hazards, i.e. those hazards than can cause multiple deaths in an incident or single deaths in a series of incidents. Typical examples are rockfalls, airborne dust and inrush. We can assist with the development, review or auditing of the site's principal hazard management plans.
Mine Safety Inspections

Regular health and safety inspections of workplaces and mining activities help to decrease risk by improving housekeeping, correcting unsafe practices and detecting sub-standard equipment and conditions. We can assist the site's health and safety staff and supervisors in developing and carrying out planned inspections and task observations. We can also provide an independent safety inspection resource.
Mining Incident Investigations

Incident investigations should identify the factors which contributed to the incident and the corrective actions which should be applied to minimise the risk of a similar incident occurring in the future. We can work with the site's health and safety staff, either to assist with the investigation or to provide an independent view of the investigation and discuss what other sites are doing to prevent similar incidents from occurring.
